Hokkaido Air System is a Hokkaido based domestic airline. Founded in 1997, it started operations the following year. The airline was established as a joint project and is presently owned by Hokkaido regional government and Japan Airlines Domestic. In the year 2006, Air Hokkaido ceased flight operation from Hakodate to Okushiri. Hokkaido Air System took over the sole route of Air Hokkaido from the very next day. The headquarters of this airline is based in New Chitose airport.
